We are proud to announce that t3rn, the multi-chain platform dedicated to enhancing the interoperability and flexibility of smart contracts across diverse blockchain ecosystems, has received a strategic grant from the Arbitrum Foundation. This grant underscores our commitment to optimizing cross-chain operations for greater reliability and user trust.

The t3rn protocol operates by deploying attestors, off-chain entities that secure and validate cross-chain transactions. These attestors ensure the integrity of operations, treating multi-blockchain executions as atomic actions. This is crucial for achieving seamless and secure transactions across different blockchain environments, thus enabling businesses and developers to fully leverage decentralized technologies.

How t3rn’s Arbitrum Grant will be used

The grant funding will be instrumental in deploying these attestors on Arbitrum Orbit L3, a move poised to enhance the capabilities of the t3rn protocol. By leveraging Arbitrum Orbit L3's advanced features, we aim to increase the degree of decentralization and enhance the security framework of our cross-chain transactions. This deployment is expected to catalyze increased adoption and trust in cross-chain functionalities by mitigating risks and ensuring transactional integrity.

Deploying on Arbitrum can involve operational costs, due to gas fees required for processing and verifying transactions. The support from the Arbitrum Foundation will directly alleviate this, helping the costs of deploying attestor contracts and managing the associated gas fees. This support ensures that our technological advancements are sustainable and continue to evolve without financial constraints.

The t3rn proposal, supported by the Arbitrum Foundation, sets forth a structured plan divided into three milestones. The first milestone focuses on the successful deployment of attestors and their integration with the t3rn protocol, aiming to achieve a significant number of high-value cross-chain transactions soon after the deployment. The subsequent milestones aim to further scale these operations, drastically increasing transaction numbers and user engagement, ultimately leading to enhanced growth and a more robust user base.

Monitoring Progress

To ensure transparency and accountability, progress across these milestones will be meticulously monitored using a custom-designed Dune dashboard, meeting the exacting standards of the Arbitrum Foundation. This not only demonstrates our commitment to operational excellence but also ensures that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the process.

This grant is a testament to the potential and importance of cross-chain solutions in the broader blockchain ecosystem. By enhancing our infrastructure on Arbitrum Orbit L3, t3rn is set to offer more dynamic, efficient, and secure blockchain interactions, paving the way for a future where blockchain's promise of decentralization and security is fully realized across multiple platforms.

We are grateful to the Arbitrum Foundation for their belief in our vision and commitment. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our journey towards creating a more interconnected and efficient blockchain landscape.

As multichain activity becomes a core part of Web3, simple asset transfers via bridges are no longer enough to support increasingly complex cross-chain workflows. While bridges effectively move assets between chains, they stop short of coordinating multi-step actions, leaving users exposed to partial executions, higher costs, and manual failure handling. t3rn addresses this gap by with cross-chain execution: an outcome-driven, atomic approach where all actions across multiple chains either complete together or fully revert. Rather than managing individual transactions, users define the desired result, and the protocol guarantees execution without leaving funds in unintended states. By operating above bridges and messaging protocols, t3rn provides execution-level interoperability, enabling safer, more reliable multichain applications as blockchain ecosystems continue to fragment and scale.

t3rn is pausing its committee governance system to pivot from a model that rewarded staked positioning to one that prioritizes active protocol contribution. While the technical infrastructure was successful, the suspension allows the team to restructure governance toward a more sustainable model where rewards are tied to measurable impact and community growth rather than passive participation. Moving forward, engagement will center on an ambassador-led approach that recognizes high-value contributors, while all staked assets remain entirely secure and under user control. This strategic shift ensures that governance resources are directed toward those building the ecosystem's future through clear deliverables and dedicated community leadership.

t3rn is expanding its cross-chain bridge to support Monad, enabling seamless, trust-minimized transfers of Monad’s native asset across networks connected to the t3rn execution layer. This first-phase integration gives users and developers an immediate interoperability touchpoint with Monad while broader execution and TRN settlement features roll out later.
