How a sale ends

Every sale ends one of four ways. One of them is new.

Reversal works after payment: a proof brings the money back, with nothing to change on the seller's side.

  1. Paid

    live

The delivery passes its check. The seller receives exactly its price.

Live on the bridge. Agent jobs settle on the test network.

  2. Refunded

    live

The job does not complete. The held payment goes back to the buyer.

Live on the bridge: a missed fill refunds. Agent jobs on the test network.

  3. Compensated

    gated

A covered job fails and the rejection stands. The cover pool pays the buyer.

Waits on the cover gate. No deposits are taken yet.

  4. Reversed

    proposed

After payment, a proof inside the listing's window shows the delivery was wrong. The seller's bond pays the buyer back first, then the cover pool.

Proposed by t3rn. Works on instant payments, with no change on the seller's side.
