News from t3rn Governance: Ambassadors x Borged.io

As t3rn governance continues to evolve into a fully programmable, community-driven system, we’re excited to announce an important update to one of our most impactful contributor roles: Ambassadors.

Since the beginning of t3rn, ambassadors have been at the heart of spreading awareness, onboarding new builders, strengthening local communities, and keeping the cross-chain ecosystem vibrant, and we are therefore committed to making sure the selection process of these key players is as transparent and efficient as possible.

It is because of this we’re introducing a new, data-driven Ambassador selection system, now integrated with Borged.io.

Why the Change?

Under the initial t3rn Governance system, Ambassadors were selected through a process that began with candidates registering in the Governance Portal by staking govTRN. Once registered, they appeared in the governance UI as eligible nominees. Elections were then carried out through community voting, and the system was designed so that these elections would run automatically through the governance modules.

In reality, the process didn’t work as smoothly as intended. Many community members interested in becoming Ambassadors did not register in time, and some regions with strong, active communities ended up with very few registered candidates. The outcome of the elections often failed to reflect actual contributions, since important aspects of Ambassador work — such as community growth, social engagement, educational efforts, and content creation — were not measured on-chain and therefore had no influence on the results. With such limited data feeding into the voting system, a small number of votes could significantly affect the final rankings, making the process feel uneven and unrepresentative of real community impact.

Because of these limitations, the previous Ambassador cohort ultimately had to be maintained manually based on earlier elections. While this ensured short-term continuity, it was not aligned with the transparent, automated, and contribution-based governance model t3rn is working to achieve.

The New Process

Ambassadors will be selected based on social and community activity tracked on Borged.io.

 From now on:

  • The Top 13 participants on the Borged Leaderboard in the t3rn Campaign will become the next cohort of Ambassadors

  • Activity is tracked transparently through the Borged platform

  • Tasks, events, deadlines, and points are all publicly visible

  • The t3rn campaign is live — and participation is open to everyone

  • Nothing changes in the salary system; only the selection process is done through borged.io

No more guessing. No more manual decision-making. Just measurable contribution → fair selection.

Why Borged?

As we introduced in the latest governance update, t3rn is partnering with a third-party engagement and growth platform to ensure Ambassador selection reflects real value brought to the ecosystem.

Borged.io allows us to:

  • Track genuine social activity and engagement

  • Give every contributor a chance to compete fairly

  • Provide a public, transparent leaderboard

  • Integrate rewards, deadlines, and contribution metrics

  • Make elections more scalable as our global community grows

This aligns perfectly with t3rn’s governance vision where modular, programmable systems reward real impact across the ecosystem.

A Final Word

Ambassadors have always been central to growing the t3rn universe. This new system ensures the role continues to evolve with fairness, transparency, and meaningful community contributions at its core.

If you’ve ever wanted to become a t3rn Ambassador — now is the moment.
Jump into the campaign, start completing tasks, and climb the leaderboard.

The next generation of Ambassadors will be built by the community, for the community — and selected by contribution, not chance.

Let’s build the future of cross-chain governance together.

We’re happy to announce Lucky Bunny, our NFT PFP drop celebrating community, interoperability, and a bit of luck in the t3rn ecosystem. Inspired by the Lucky Cat and t3rn’s bunny mascot, Lucky Bunnies symbolize curiosity, movement, and connection across chains. Minted on Rari Chain, this drop is a thank-you to the t3rn community, offering simple perks like future allowlists, raffles, and early access. With an accessible mint and proceeds supporting TRN buybacks, Lucky Bunny is about being part of the story — where culture and infrastructure grow together.

As multichain activity becomes a core part of Web3, simple asset transfers via bridges are no longer enough to support increasingly complex cross-chain workflows. While bridges effectively move assets between chains, they stop short of coordinating multi-step actions, leaving users exposed to partial executions, higher costs, and manual failure handling. t3rn addresses this gap by with cross-chain execution: an outcome-driven, atomic approach where all actions across multiple chains either complete together or fully revert. Rather than managing individual transactions, users define the desired result, and the protocol guarantees execution without leaving funds in unintended states. By operating above bridges and messaging protocols, t3rn provides execution-level interoperability, enabling safer, more reliable multichain applications as blockchain ecosystems continue to fragment and scale.

t3rn is pausing its committee governance system to pivot from a model that rewarded staked positioning to one that prioritizes active protocol contribution. While the technical infrastructure was successful, the suspension allows the team to restructure governance toward a more sustainable model where rewards are tied to measurable impact and community growth rather than passive participation. Moving forward, engagement will center on an ambassador-led approach that recognizes high-value contributors, while all staked assets remain entirely secure and under user control. This strategic shift ensures that governance resources are directed toward those building the ecosystem's future through clear deliverables and dedicated community leadership.
